  1. The past few years I have been more excited about the plays than the musicals. I am sorry, (in my opinion)there really hasn't been anything to call home about in the way of new musicals. I am sure that the nominated shows are great. (Billy Elliot, LOVED the movie.) But I would like to see something clearly exciting and original like what has been happening in the play category. Wouldn't it be amazing to see a musical that wasn't based on a film? Someone coming up with and original idea or taking a universal idea and making it pure genius? Something as exciting and brilliant as West Side Story when it first came out. Where are the Bernstein's and the Sondheim's of tomorrow?...I REALLY want those guys to step forward and blow me away! Good Luck to the nominees! Love the Tony's despite the lack of musical originality. ;-)

  2. I'm right there with ya, Tamari. I'm tired of seeing musicals about recent films or Television shows. I don't mind if they go back to classics like Webber did with Sunset Boulevard, just get some more original stuff out there....like...Urinetown. LOL ;) Hey...it's funny AND Original. But...you know what I mean.
